Overcoming Low Mood | Negative Thinking | Depression

Dealing with life’s difficulties naturally brings about times of sadness and frustration. The loss of a hoped for situation or experiencing a negative event is usually accompanied by a period of sadness as we come to terms with what happened. You may also feel sad if you are facing the end of a relationship or managing a difficult decision. These feelings usually pass and we come back to a more fulfilled sense of self. However, with low mood and depression these feelings tend to stay with us and may also include some of the following symptoms.

Cognitive Behavioural Therapy is a type of psychotherapy that looks at:

  • The way you think about yourself/others
  • What you think about the situation or problem you are experiencing and
  • How what you do and feel is influenced by what you think and believe. It includes a solution-focused approach to problems and supports positive change with CBT worksheets.

Mindfulness Therapy is beneficial because Mindfulness supports the body and the mind.

  • Integrating Mindfulness improves mental and physical health
  • It helps to relieve stress and improves clarity of mind
  • Mindfulness is supportive in the treatment of depression, low mood, anxiety, couples conflict and stress reduction
